Patricia Bakker

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (BComm)

  • Master of Business (MBus)

  • Justice of the Peace (JP)

Patricia started her accounting career working for Darlington Comodities in the early 1980’s and subsequently worked for BT Australia in Sydney. When she moved to the Northern Rivers, Patricia worked for Thomas Noble & Russell for 4 years, gaining valuable experience in public practice and taxation services. She began teaching at Southern Cross University in 1990 in the areas of taxation and accounting and continued to teach for 20 years.

Patricia completed her professional year with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1990. She subsequently did a Master of Business specialising in the interaction of the social security and taxation systems and its effect on unemployed persons and their motivation to work.

Patricia started her own public practice while still teaching in 1998 and Taxpresso was formed in 2006. Patricia has a particular interest in small to medium business, investment and capital gains tax issues for property and share investments.

Patricia is approachable, friendly and creates flexible working hours to benefit the needs of clients. Her experience in the accounting field for over 35 years equips her not only with great knowledge in the area, but also contributes to her excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with clients.
